Himalayan Exchanges
The Himalayan Exchanges association was founded more than 30 years ago.
An association born from a meeting between Daniel Monconduit, who fell under the spell of Tibet and the Himalayan regions, a doctor and a Nepalese monk carrying out a clinic project for their region.
"I have always been attracted to Nepal and the Himalayan culture," says Daniel Montconduit, founder of the association Échanges himalayans. "When I went there for the first time in the mid-1980s, I fell under the spell of the beauty of the people and their wisdom, and of the majestic landscapes. I also discovered the poverty of the place."
Daniel then took time to meet the country and its inhabitants, to immerse himself in the culture and spirituality of the place. And then one day the trigger. "We always put a little magic in our lives" often thanks to "a decisive encounter".
Daniel says: "I was in Lumbini, the city where Buddha was born. An anthropologist friend introduced me to a monk, Bikkhu Maitrai, and a doctor, Dr. Mallick. They were looking to set up a clinic there. The request came from them who live there. We provided the funds, participated in developing strategies to meet their expectations." The association was born.

The Himalayan Exchanges Association was born from a belief: open your heart and let the magic of life happen!
At first, it was just a matter of hoping that life would help us achieve our goals. There was so much to do…
For over 30 years, this magic has been working. Flawlessly. Each mission is included in several dynamics, including that of the sky. We are helped as much as we help. What a privilege to share time with this other dimension.
Furthermore, each donor, each mission partner is certainly moved by the poverty encountered, the distress linked to precariousness, but just as much by the resilience of the children, women and men who face it, this force of life which accompanies us all.

Let us remember that all the funds collected thanks to our donors and sponsors go directly to the field. All members of the Association who go to the field pay in full all their expenses related to the missions.
